Pick your Peak 2012

Pick a mountain, hill or tall building to climb, raise funds and increase awareness of Duchenne, a devastating and lethal muscle disease that impacts 1 in 3,500 boys. Boys with Duchenne are usually diagnosed by the age of 5, in a wheelchair by age 12 and most don’t survive their mid-20s. Every day two boys die from Duchenne. Duchenne can occur in any family, from any race and from any background. Support Duchenne boys by participating in this year’s Climb to CureDuchenne.

This year, Climb to CureDuchenne: Pick Your Peak is scheduled for June 23 OR June 30, 2012. Now you can join the cause and raise money to fund critical Duchenne research! Buy a ticket and pick your peak today!

  • What: Teams of people across the country climb a mountain, hill or tall building to raise funds and awareness for CureDuchenne. This is the fourth annual event and more than 500 people will participate. All funds donated will be used for research and to raise awareness.
  • Where: Any mountain, hill or tall building. No geographic limitations. Anyone, regardless of athletic ability, is encouraged to participate individually or to form a team and secure personal sponsors/ contributors for completing the climb.
  • When: June 23 OR June 30, 2012

This year we have an elite team climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro. This team includes 8 year-old Tyler Armstrong of Yorba Linda, Calif., who will be the second youngest person to reach the summit. Tyler is doing the climb to raise money for the 300,000 boys worldwide who are afflicted with Duchenne. To donate to Team Tyler click here.

We hope you’ll set your own personal climbing challenge big or small to help us conquer Duchenne. Do it yourself or put together a team and encourage your friends, family and colleagues to sponsor your climb. You can register and set up your fundraising page by clicking on the blue buttons above.

CureDuchenne is leading the charge to find a cure for Duchenne. Currently there is no cure, but for the first time there is hope current research may result in treatments which will greatly improve the lives of Duchenne boys. Together we can cure Duchenne!
